R.H. White is looking for an Assistant Estimator to assist in gathering, calculating and compiling data for use in bid proposal estimates for one or more discipline areas. Technical aspects and company procedures can be learned through on-the-job training.
SUMMARY
The Assistant Estimator will assist in gathering, calculating and compiling data for use in bid proposal estimates for one or more discipline areas. Technical aspects and company procedures can be learned through on-the-job training.
DUTIES
Calculate various statistical data - quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man-hour, equipment, etc.
Research historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates.
Participate in developing project update, bid package estimate documents and requests for quotes (RFQ).
Maintain vendor files and estimating system on the computer.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Receive and review drawings and/or plans from design partners and architects.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or the equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
0-2 Years construction estimating, engineering or similar experience.
General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, timberline estimating software and material pricing required.
Ability to calculate mathematical extensions, read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, cost coding systems, etc. is essential.
Must possess a valid unrestricted Driver's License
